Saving Energy from Cooling Efficiency
One of the way to measure the the efficiency of air conditioners and heat pumps is by using the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER). SEER is the comparison between the cooling outputs to the electrical consumption over a range of temperatures. The higher the SEER, the less the unit will cost to operate. It means that the higher the SEER, the better the energy performance. In the other word, you will save more energy when you have higher SEER.
